Review
Went to MeatWorks at ION Orchard with Robin on Sunday. It was my second time there. Did not want to go there again but Robin bought a coupon for a beef burger there so.. I just accompanied him there. I don't really like their service because they gave me water with dirt inside. Twice some more. Anyway, we sat outside this time.

I bought this cool Birthday card for Robin at {prologue} at ION Orchard. I have no idea why the photo turns out like this here as I have already rotated it on my computer.
And he bought one for me. My photo turns out ok though.

The atmosphere wasn't bad. The place was pretty quiet.
In my opinion, it's better to sit outside =)

Loud Festival
Went to the Loud Festival with Diana on Friday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. It started at 8:30pm.
The first group to perform was Sodagreen. They performed Kuang Re, Xiao Qing Ge, Xi Huan Ji Mo (new song) and Zao Dian Hui Jia (new song). Sorry, got to type everything in Hanyu Pinyin because I can't type Chinese words in this MAC computer. If anyone knows, please tell me how to ok.
After Sodagreen's performance, Landy (Wen Lan) made a loud appearance and paid tribute to her ethnic roots when she showcased her powerhouse vocals in an aboriginal-esque tune. Very amazing! But I find that the music was louder than her voice. It would be better if we can hear her more clearly. She also sang more popular songs like Zhu Wo Sheng Ri Kuai Le and Sha Gua. Oh, and there was a sexy dance performance by her, not bad =)
Next one of our local groups, Ang Mo Pai, went on stage. Don't know why they are called Ang Mo Pai. Sounds like rambutan. Lolx~ Anyway, felt kinda bad for them coz a lot of people were moving around (going to the toilet, etc) when Ang Mo Pai was singing. Oops~ I was one of the guilty ones but.. cannot help it leh. Want to go to the toilet what.
After that, Cindy Yen came on stage. I seriously can't remember what songs she sang. She sang an English song which was not bad at all.
The peak of the entire Loud Festival is when Jay Chou came on stage. Really! You can see all the audience standing up, cheering, waving, shouting, etc. Very high! He sang many songs (which I suddenly can't remember but I will go youtube to find the videos for you all ok?). I like his guitar and piano renditions. Finally, he and Landy sang Wu Ding during encore.
By the way, I saw a Caucasian there. Wonder if he understands the songs?

Shortage of question papers forces NUS to cancel economics exam

SINGAPORE - Some 700 first-year undergraduates at the National University of Singapore (NUS), who were supposed to sit for a paper on managerial economics last Saturday, were told on the spot that the exam was cancelled - because not enough question papers were printed.
In response to MediaCorp's queries, an NUS spokesperson attributed the gaffe to "human error". The university is looking into the matter "to strengthen the processes to prevent this from happening again", the spokesperson added.
According to the spokesperson, the mid-year test for the module "BSP 1005 Managerial Economics" was scheduled to be held at 2pm last Saturday. The spokesperson said 750 copies were supposed to be printed for a class of 725. The lecturer-in-charge of the exam, who works in the banking industry, had another class in the morning and he discovered at "about 2pm" that there was a shortage of 200 scripts, the spokesperson said. The spokesperson said: "The lecturer-in-charge discussed with fellow colleagues on duty that day on the various available options. There was insufficient time to make additional copies as another test had been scheduled in the same hall immediately after the stated test.
"After considering all options, the lecturer-in-charge made the difficult decision of cancelling the test. The lecturer-in-charge then made the announcement to the students, took responsibility and apologised for the human error made, and followed up with an explanation email to all affected students."
The mid-year test would have made up 30 per cent of the students' overall grades. The weightage will now be shifted to other assignments.
In an email sent to the affected undergraduates last Saturday - a copy of which was obtained by MediaCorp - the course coordinator said: "On behalf of the entire team, I am really sorry for today's fiasco. We fell short in the number of printed papers we had and we could not find a way to make this work."
Pointing out the difficulty of rearranging another sitting for the exam, he added that there will not be a mid-year exam.
Adding that the situation was "completely unintended", the coordinator said the question paper will also be made available to the students for them to try the questions for practice and for tutorial discussions.
An affected undergraduate, who wished to be known only as Mr Tan, said he felt "very frustrated and annoyed".
He added: "I studied so hard for it and it got cancelled at the last minute."

My student asked me to go later so I have some time to blog.
I think that my new boss sounds like my ex-boss. When my ex-boss talked, there seemed to be an underlining meaning sometimes. Not sure how to explain but that's the feeling I get. My ex-boss isn't that bad but.. I just hope that they are different. Nevertheless, all the best to me =)

Review
Had lunch at Cafe Indulge at The Cathay one day with Robin. The food there was so-so. The french fries were so salty. Their salt is free! =.= The only good thing is that the prices are very reasonable. Total cost for the meal is only about $20 plus.
Anyway, I should let the photos do the talking.
