I don't know since when I share a love-hate relationship with my family. But recently, it tilts more towards hate. I don't know why parents always think that they know the best for their children. Why are they so annoying to interfere with their children's every decision? My mum always says that I will be like her when I'm a mother next time. I don't think I will. If I will ever become like her, then I rather don't have kids.

Review - Sylvia's Secrets

Hi everyone. Got a new place to introduce to you gals. It's a nail parlour called Sylvia's Secrets. Diana and I bought a Groupon for a manicure and pedicure session to be used there.

This place is great! The environment is good - quiet and peaceful. I like my manicurist, Joey. She's very nice and gentle. Although we used the Groupon voucher, they did not promote any extra service to us. So we did not pay a single cent. The last time when I went to this nail parlour at Far East Plaza, they made me pay $10 to remove the cuticle for hand and another $10 for feet.

Private Driving Instructor - Liew Yew Seng

Hi there. Quite a number of people have been asking me about my driving instructor so I have decided to create this post so that I can refer them to read here rather than to keep repeating myself.

Rates: $45 for peak hours, $42 for non-peak hours. Additional $23 for using the circuit at SSDC for peak hours and $19 for non-peak hours. There is a one-time registration fee of $50, payable during the first lesson.
TP test: $197 for car rental and warm-up. You have to book for the TP test date at SSDC yourself or you can book through SSDC website.

He only teaches AUTO at SSDC. So please don't ask me about manual or other driving schools. I have no recommendation for that. Sorry.

I got my license within 3 months under him, passed during the first time with 8 demerit points. He is a quiet guy, doesn't talk much but will still teach you the necessary and correct you if needed. Think he's better in Chinese. He has started my lessons on time and ended it on time. Didn't 迟到早退. I have heard lots of complaints about how private driving instructors are unwilling to book circuit lessons for the students. I have gone for 9 circuit lessons (kiasu mah) and he didn't complain or reject helping me book.

I used to think that if you are good to people, people will be good to you. But now, I really have doubts about this belief. Even if you are good to people, people might not reciprocate. They might even take advantage of you. They only think of their best interests. Like for example, I am kind enough not to raise tuition fee for the new year but a student's mother still can ask me for discount! I have spent so much money on driving yet I have never asked for any discount before =.=
