Harry Potter Exhibition at the Arts Science Museum

Do you love Harry Potter? Well, here's your chance to peer into the magical world of Harry Potter: The Exhibition and get up-close to hundreds of authentic costumes and props from all eight Harry Potter films. The exhibition will be on from now to 30 September 2012.

Featuring artifacts in settings inspired by the film sets, go on a journey through the famous wizard’s world and experience first-hand all the wonders of Hogwarts™ such as the Gryffindor™ common room, Hagrid’s hut, and the Great Hall. Along the way you can pull a Mandrake from its pot, toss a Quaffle in the Quidditch™ area, and encounter centaurs, Buckbeak™ the Hippogriff and a giant Acromantula spider in the Forbidden Forest.

On display for the first time in Asia, Harry Potter: The Exhibition features all your favorite costumes and props like Harry’s wand and eyeglasses, Hermione’s Yule Ball gown, the Golden Snitch™, the Marauder’s Map and so much more.

Personally, I have the whole collection of the Harry Potter books and DVDs. Maybe I will watch the DVDs and read the books again one day. I still remember how cute Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) looked in The Sorcerer's Stone.

Anyway, last Sunday, I went to The Harry Potter Exhibition at the Arts Science Museum (near Marina Bay Sands) with Robin, Jasmin and Desmond. Although the artifacts look great and everything, I have finished seeing the things within an hour. You are not supposed to touch the artifacts nor take any photos inside. I hate the no photography rule. There are only 2 interactive games inside. One, you get to pull the mandrakes out and hear them squealing. Two, you get to throw quidditch balls over the hoops. I didn't get to try the second one as there were many kids hogging it =.=

The last section of the exhibition is a shop where they sell overpriced items and souvenirs. T-shirts cost $50, owls cost $80 and the wands cost at least $50 (if I remember correctly). Even the chocolates cost $6 per piece! Usually, I will buy something if I go to exhibitions or to special places but everything there is really too overpriced! By the way, when we approached the shop, a young lady tried to sell us the exhibition book. I think it costs about $50 or $60. The way she tried to sell the book really made me =.=

This is what she said. "Hi, I know you are not allowed to take any photographs of the exhibits so want to get this book? It has photos of the exhibits and you can keep it." Okie, something along the line. Can't really remember the exact words. Hm.. I was thinking, "So that's why they don't allow us to take photos. Then they can earn more $$$. Oh well."

Anyway, it's still a good experience for kids (it's school holiday now) and Harry Potter fans. Okie, time to see some photos.

We had dinner at Hotpot Culture at Marina Square. More about that in another post. This post is getting too long.
